Electronic Privacy Policy & Data Security

Benefit Advisors, Inc. is committed to preserving the privacy of its web site users. Benefit Advisors, Inc. does collect personal information unless this information is provided voluntarily. If personal information is received, Benefit Advisors, Inc. will not share this information with third parties unless required to so in accordance with the applicable federal and state laws.

Data Security Best Practices

We take data security very seriously and comply with data security "best practices" including:

• Offsite Secure Hosting - Our servers are stored in a secure off-site facility. The facility is monitored by 24/7 security and the server racks and server floors both require two factor authentication.
• Virus Protection / Firewalls - Our systems are all protected by state-of-the-art virus protection and firewall software.
• Unique Member Identification - Whenever possible we use alternate identification schemes, rather than social security numbers or other personal identifiers.
• Encryption - Whereever possible we use encryption when transferring information, including 1024 bit SSL encryption for web-based services and PGP/GPG encrytion for file transfers.
• Education - Our IT staff maintains a rigorous training and education schedule to keep up-to-date with security and privacy concerns.

E-mail

The advantages of utilizing e-mail are numerous, however there are certain disadvantages or risks associated with using e-mail. Below is a list of the possible risks associated with using e-mail:

E-Mail may be circulated, forwarded and/or stored on paper or in electronic files.

E-Mail may be used as evidence in court

E-Mail may introduce viruses into computer systems

E-Mail may be archived and inspected by employers

E-Mail may be have been copied without knowledge of sender or recipient

E-Mail may be at risk to computer hackers

E-Mail can be intercepted, forwarded, altered and/or used without authorization or detection

E-Mail senders may misaddress an email and therefore send to an incorrect recipient
